how do you introduce that which needs no introduction? fortunately, such rhetorical questions need not be answered. this is new music: the second installment in the fair & sqr discography. "broke down along the information highway" is something else. it is not quite EP. it is not quite LP. but nonetheless it is an album, a record of past moments suspended in time for voyeuristic pleasure. it is an acoustic embodiment of modern alienation, a desperate attempt to (re-)articulate the increasingly disjointed self and other. to answer the question: if so, then what are *we* becoming? this album is a haunting lament of our being(s) as we are today -- /alone together/. it is the loss of connection that we suffer in our (un-)[w]hol[l]y connected world. it is 5 songs of lyrical story-telling that remain mindful to the materiality of things, offering a unique sentimental-soundscape comprised of traditional folk instruments and synthetic noise, recorded and produced in a covid-era home office.
